The stars tease

me with my fate.

They know  I

will lie pulverized

next to them

post haste.

Perhaps we

could merge

and share

our history,

and return

a bit wiser

but still cloaked

in mystery.

I believe swans

were never ugly ducklings

and there is poetic beauty

even in cyanide.

Rivers were meant

to be bathed in

and trees to be climbed,

but we will never

know true freedom

until we eviscerate

our continued divide.

Yanbu Mangrove

As the month of Ramadan closes, it’s time for us to take a short break and relax, and also wander into [nearby] places. A way to break photography rut —see and photograph the mangroves by the Red Sea coast.

Mangrove photos from before the sun touched the horizon and a bit after sunset.
